Objective

Register the physical structure of the bank: tanks, baskets, ladders and positions. This configuration defines where the samples are stored.

Before starting

• Have GAMETE_BANK_STORAGE_CONFIGURATION: WRITE.
• Know the physical structure (how many tanks, how many baskets per tank, how many ladders per basket, how many positions per ladder).
• Verify that the bank parameters (maximums and minimums) are configured so as not to exceed the limits.

Step by step

1. Enter the Gamete bank module and select the Storage configuration sub-route (icon or tab according to the menu).
2. The screen has two tabs: Tanks and Ladders.
3. In the Tanks tab:
   • Click Add tank.
   • Enter: code, name, type, location, maximum capacity, status.
   • Confirm.
4. For each tank, baskets and ladders can be created from its expanded detail.
5. In the Ladders tab:
   • Select the tank and the basket.
   • Add ladders with their code, capacity and status.
6. For each ladder, positions (cryotops and vials) are managed from the position dialog.
7. The gear icon opens the Bank parameters drawer where the limits and qualities are adjusted.

Expected result

• The tanks, baskets, ladders and positions are registered.
• The structure is available to assign samples in the storage view.
• The bank limits (for example, maximum oocytes per cryotop) are applied to new samples.

Common errors

Situation	What to do
I cannot add a tank	Verify the GAMETE_BANK_STORAGE_CONFIGURATION: WRITE permission.
The capacity exceeds the parameter limit	Adjust the bank parameter or reduce the tank capacity.
The tank does not appear in the storage view	Verify that it is with active status.

Suggested permissions

• GAMETE_BANK_STORAGE_CONFIGURATION: WRITE to create and edit.
• GAMETE_BANK_STORAGE_CONFIGURATION: ADMIN to delete.

Operational recommendations

• Document the physical structure (labels) so the bank staff can quickly locate the samples.
• Periodically verify that the configuration matches the physical reality.

Relation with other modules

• Storage: the structure configured here is used to assign samples.
• Bank parameters: the global limits are adjusted in their drawer.
• Cash box (CryoBank): the plan charges use the storage structure to identify the patient.
