Delete doctor or resource
Objective
Delete an HCP from the system. This action is destructive and should only be used when the HCP has no history (appointments, prescriptions, studies) that must be preserved.
Before starting
- Have
MEDICAL_STAFF: ADMIN. - Confirm that the HCP has no critical history. If they do, prefer deactivating.
Step by step
- Enter the Medical and staff module.
- Locate the HCP.
- In the row, click the Delete icon (trash can).
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
Expected result
- The HCP disappears from the list.
- The system shows a success message.
- If the HCP had dependencies, the system aborts the operation and shows a message.
Pending: add screenshot of
medicos-eliminar-01-confirmacion.png.
Common errors
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| The Delete icon does not appear | The user does not have MEDICAL_STAFF: ADMIN. |
| The deletion fails due to dependencies | Deactivate instead of deleting. Deactivation preserves the history. |
Suggested permissions
MEDICAL_STAFF: ADMIN.
Operational recommendations
- Avoid deleting HCPs with clinical history. In most cases, deactivating them is sufficient.
Relation with other modules
- Schedule: the deleted HCP's appointments are left without an assigned doctor (according to configuration). Coordinate with the schedule before deleting.
- Prescriptions and studies: prescriptions and studies signed by the HCP keep their authorship.
- Audit log: the deletion is recorded.
