Link sexual partner
Objective
Associate a patient with their sexual partner so that both records are linked and partner searches from studies, obstetric and gamete bank work correctly.
Before starting
- Both patients must exist in the system. If the partner is not registered, register them first from Register patient.
- Have
PATIENTS: WRITE.
Step by step
- Enter the Patients module.
- Search for the patient to be linked.
- In the patient's row, click the Sexual partner icon (heart).
- The linking dialog opens.
- Search for the partner by name or medical record in the dialog field.
- Confirm the selection.
- Click Save or Link.
Expected result
- The dialog closes.
- The partner is associated with the patient and vice versa.
- In the list, the patient shows the partner tag (tooltip on hover over the partner icon).
- When opening the patient's record, the partner appears in the corresponding section.

Common errors
| Situation | What to do |

| The partner does not appear in the search | Confirm that the partner is already registered; use the Patients module search. |
| The link is not saved | Check the connection; retry. |
| I want to unlink | The partner dialog allows replacing or removing the existing link. |

Relation with other modules
- Medical studies: studies (especially reproductive ones) consult the patient's partner to display it in the header and reports.
- Gamete bank: the stored plans and samples reference the patient and their partner.
- Prescriptions: prescriptions may include the partner's name in the header if linked.
